Privacy Policy

Last Updated: October 27, 2025

This Privacy Policy explains how Ozia (“we”, “us”, or “our”), the independent creators of Ozia (the “App”), collects, uses, and protects your information. We comply with applicable data protection laws, including the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).

1. Who We Are & How to Contact Us

Controller: Ozia, independent creators of Ozia.
Contact for privacy inquiries: privacy@ozia.live

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information when you use the App:

a) Account Information

Email (and optionally your name or gender) to create and manage your account, authenticate you, and handle password resets.

b) Device & Usage Data

Device model, operating system/version, app version, IP address, and basic usage/diagnostic information to run, secure, and improve the App.

c) Payment Data

Purchases are processed by third-party providers (e.g., Apple App Store, Google Play, Stripe, PayPal). We do not store your full payment details.

d) Communications

If you opt in to receive newsletters or product updates, we store your email for that purpose. You can unsubscribe at any time.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:
• Provide, operate, and maintain the App and your account (including syncing across devices).
• Communicate service notifications, updates, and security alerts.
• Improve performance, fix bugs, and prevent misuse.
• Send marketing communications if you consent (you may opt out anytime).

4. Legal Bases for Processing (GDPR)

Contract — to deliver the App and core features you request.
Consent — for marketing emails.
Legitimate Interests — to ensure security, prevent abuse, analyze performance, and improve the App in ways that respect your rights.

5. Data Storage, Transfers & Third Parties

We store data on secure cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS or equivalent) and may use service providers for analytics, push notifications, email delivery, crash reporting, and payments. Where data is transferred outside the EU/EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or Standard Contractual Clauses) to protect your information.

We do not sell your personal data. We share only what is necessary with trusted processors to provide the App (e.g., app stores, payment processors, crash/analytics services, email delivery vendors), under data processing agreements and security commitments.

6. Data Retention

We keep your data only as long as necessary to provide the App and comply with legal obligations. You can delete your account at any time from within the App (or by contacting us), which will delete your personal data unless we need to retain some information to meet legal or tax requirements.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
• Access your data and obtain a copy.
• Rectify inaccurate or incomplete data.
• Erase your data (“right to be forgotten”).
• Restrict processing in certain circumstances.
• Object to processing based on legitimate interests or for direct marketing.
• Data portability (receive your data in a structured, commonly used format).
• Withdraw consent at any time (this does not affect prior lawful processing).
• Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

CCPA (California) Rights

California residents have the right to:
• Request disclosure of categories and specific pieces of personal information collected about them.
• Request deletion of personal information (subject to legal exceptions).
• Opt out of the sale of personal information (we do not sell personal information as defined by the CCPA).

8. Security

We implement technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit, access controls, and secure infrastructure. No system is 100% secure, but we continuously work to safeguard your information.

9. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

10. Third-Party Links & Devices

If you connect third-party hardware or services (e.g., wearables), their own privacy policies apply to the data they collect. We encourage you to review those policies.

11. International Users

By using the App, you understand that your information may be processed and stored in countries outside your own. We take steps to ensure appropriate protections for international transfers as required by law.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version in the App (and/or on our website) and update the “Last Updated” date. Your continued use of the App after changes become effective signifies your acceptance of the revised policy.

13. How to Exercise Your Rights

To make a request or ask a question about your data, contact us at privacy@ozia.live. We will respond in accordance with applicable laws and within required timeframes.

If you are an EU/EEA resident, you may also contact your local Data Protection Authority. If you are a California resident, you may exercise your CCPA rights using the contact details above.
